Patagonia State Park

First trip to Patagonia Lake State Park. It's much smaller than Parker Canyon Lake, but closer to Tucson which may be why it's the more popular recreation site.

There's a walking path that runs along the lake and then Sonoita Creek.  The leaves were just beginning to show hints of fall color.

This prickly pear was one of very few within the park. It's amazing where they can take root.

This unidentified moth had visible orange in flight and practically disappears on tree bark. It was huge...about 4 - 5 inches in size.

Doug kept getting these cockleburs stuck to his shoes. The seeds of this plant are dangerously poisonous so I wonder why so many cattle were grazing here.

There were so many Boardered Patch butterflies---along with some Tailed Orange and a few Monarchs.

Hiking along a path...
Doug: Watch out for the horse poop.
Me: That's not horse poop. That's cow poop.
Doug: They said horses use this trail.
Me: Fine. But there's a reason they call cow poop 'cow pies' and horse poop 'road apples.' That's cow poop.
Doug: But cows don't just roam around the countryside.
And then around the next bend...
Moral of the story: Doug doesn't know sh!t about sh!t.
